Privacy Policy

This policy explains how Axis Wellness handles personal information in connection with the website, booking process, payments, communications, and mental wellness support sessions.

1. Who this policy applies to

This Privacy Policy explains how Axis Wellness collects, uses, stores, and protects personal information from people who visit the website, submit a booking form, make an enquiry, pay for a session, or take part in Axis Wellness mental wellness support services.

Axis Wellness provides therapeutic-informed mental wellness support through reflective conversation and emotional care. Axis Wellness does not provide psychiatric diagnosis, psychological testing, medication, emergency intervention, crisis response, or medical treatment.

2. Information we collect

We collect only the information needed to respond to enquiries, arrange sessions, provide support, process payments, meet legal obligations, and maintain safe service records.

  • Identity and contact details, including your name, email address, and phone number if you choose to provide it.
  • Booking details, including preferred session length, preferred session format, selected package, appointment date and time, payment status, and scheduling notes.
  • Information you submit in forms, including present concerns, goals, support needs, accessibility needs, communication preferences, and acknowledgements of Axis Wellness policies.
  • Session-related notes kept by Axis Wellness to support continuity, reflection, risk management, and service quality.
  • Payment information processed through third-party payment providers. Axis Wellness does not intentionally store full card numbers, bank authentication details, or payment passwords.
  • Technical information, such as device type, browser type, IP address, general location, pages visited, and usage data when collected by website hosting, security, analytics, or payment systems.
  • Communication records, including emails, website messages, booking confirmations, and administrative follow-up.

3. Sensitive personal information

Because Axis Wellness provides mental wellness support, some information you share may be sensitive. This may include information about emotional wellbeing, stress, relationships, identity, family history, work or school pressure, personal experiences, or other matters you choose to discuss.

You should share only what you are comfortable sharing and what is relevant to the support you are seeking. Axis Wellness treats sensitive information with heightened care and uses it only for the purposes described in this policy.

4. How we use your information

  • To respond to enquiries and provide information about Axis Wellness services.
  • To review booking requests and confirm whether Axis Wellness is an appropriate fit for the support requested.
  • To schedule, deliver, and manage sessions.
  • To process payments, refunds where applicable, invoices, confirmations, and administrative records.
  • To maintain continuity across sessions and support safe, respectful care.
  • To communicate important service updates, policy changes, scheduling changes, or account-related information.
  • To protect the safety, rights, and wellbeing of clients, Axis Wellness, and others.
  • To comply with applicable laws, lawful requests, tax obligations, recordkeeping duties, and professional boundaries.
  • To improve the website, booking process, client experience, and service operations.

5. Lawful basis for processing

Where applicable data protection law applies, including the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023, Axis Wellness relies on appropriate lawful bases for processing personal data. Depending on the context, these may include your consent, performance of a service agreement, compliance with a legal obligation, legitimate interests in operating a safe and reliable service, and protection of vital interests where serious harm may be involved.

You may withdraw consent where consent is the basis for processing. Withdrawal of consent does not affect processing that occurred before withdrawal, and it may limit Axis Wellness's ability to provide services.

6. Confidentiality and limits

Axis Wellness treats session information and service records as confidential. Information is not shared casually, publicly, or with family members, employers, schools, or other third parties without your permission, except as described in this policy.

Confidentiality has limits. Axis Wellness may disclose information if required by law, court order, lawful authority, payment dispute process, or where Axis Wellness reasonably believes disclosure is necessary to prevent serious risk of harm to you or another person.

7. Sharing with service providers

Axis Wellness may use trusted third-party providers to operate the website, manage bookings, send emails, host data, process payments, support security, and maintain business records. These providers may process personal information only as needed to provide their services.

  • Website hosting and infrastructure providers.
  • Email and communication services.
  • Booking, scheduling, form, or customer-management tools.
  • Payment processors and banks.
  • Professional advisers, including legal, accounting, tax, or compliance support where necessary.
  • Security, analytics, and technical support providers.

8. Payments

Payments may be handled by external payment processors. When you pay, the payment provider may collect and process payment details under its own privacy policy and security practices.

Axis Wellness may receive transaction references, payment status, amount paid, payer name, email address, and other limited information needed to confirm your booking, reconcile accounts, handle disputes, and maintain records.

9. Cookies and website analytics

The Axis Wellness website may use cookies, similar technologies, hosting logs, or analytics tools to keep the site secure, understand site performance, remember preferences, and improve the booking experience.

You can usually control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling some cookies may affect website performance or the ability to complete booking and payment flows.

10. Data retention

Axis Wellness keeps personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, including service delivery, continuity of care, legal compliance, dispute resolution, accounting, tax, fraud prevention, and business records.

Retention periods may differ depending on the type of information. Booking and payment records may be kept for accounting and legal purposes. Session-related records may be retained for continuity, safety, and professional accountability. When information is no longer needed, Axis Wellness will delete, anonymize, or securely archive it where reasonably possible.

11. Security

Axis Wellness uses reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards to protect personal information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration, or disclosure.

No website, email system, payment system, or internet transmission is completely secure. You are responsible for using a secure device, protecting your email account, avoiding shared devices where possible, and telling Axis Wellness promptly if you believe your communication or booking information has been compromised.

12. International processing

Some service providers used by Axis Wellness may store or process information outside your country. Where this occurs, Axis Wellness takes reasonable steps to work with providers that use appropriate privacy and security safeguards.

13. Your privacy rights

Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have rights to request access to your personal information, correction of inaccurate information, deletion of certain information, restriction of processing, objection to certain processing, portability of certain data, or withdrawal of consent.

To make a privacy request, email Axis Wellness at WorkwithLisanwala@gmail.com. Axis Wellness may need to verify your identity before responding. Some requests may be limited by confidentiality obligations, safety concerns, legal duties, payment records, accounting records, or other lawful reasons.

14. Children and age restriction

Axis Wellness services are intended for adults aged 18 and above. Axis Wellness does not knowingly provide services to children or intentionally collect personal information from children for service delivery. If you believe a child has submitted personal information, contact Axis Wellness so the matter can be reviewed.

15. Emergencies and crisis situations

Axis Wellness is not an emergency, crisis, psychiatric, or medical service. The website, booking form, email, and sessions should not be used for urgent or emergency support.

If you are at immediate risk, experiencing suicidal thoughts, at risk of harming someone else, or facing a medical or mental health emergency, contact local emergency services, go to the nearest emergency department, or seek urgent help from a qualified crisis or medical professional.

16. Changes to this policy

Axis Wellness may update this Privacy Policy to reflect service changes, legal requirements, technology updates, or operational needs. The effective date will show when the current version became active. Continued use of the website or services after changes are posted means the updated policy applies.
